Know More Counselling LTD. is committed to providing holistic care to Manitobans who need assistance managing their mental health, while removing as many barriers as possible. Our model of care encompasses all ages and walks of life. Know More Counselling LTD. blends clinical social work with psychiatric nursing to provide a more complete picture of the individual and their unique needs. Please see our services below
Assessment
We provide psychiatric nursing assessments, biopsychosocial-spiritual assessments and use evidence-based screening tools to help guide the individual to a greater understanding of their mental health. Medication review is included in the nursing assessment which involves educating clients, families and their doctors about medication options and recommendations and discuss any psychiatric nursing clinical impressions. Once the appropriate assessments have been completed, the client will work with the psychiatric nursing staff to make a comprehensive, individualized care-plan.
Counselling
The staff at Know More Counselling LTD. use interpersonal techniques that are inspired by therapeutic models such as dialectical behavioural therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and trauma-informed care, among others. Creating art, journalling, vision boards, guided meditation, building, painting, spending time outdoors and engaging in sport are all examples of offered activities that Know More Counselling LTD. incorporates into our 1:1 (or group) 60 minute counselling sessions. Building lasting relationships is important to us. We pride ourselves in tailoring our care to each unique individual's needs to help them build capacity and reach their goals.
Systems Navigation
Mental Health resources can be difficult to find and even more difficult to access in Manitoba. Know More Counselling LTD. helps to bridge the gaps by offering professional advocacy and systems navigation. We partner with care providers and organizations to map out and maximize appropriate resources for the client. When needed, we make referrals and help to liaise with family members, school staff and general practitioners.
Graduate Support/
Educational Assistance
Continuity of care and future-forward thinking is important to Know More Counselling LTD. Because of this, we offer educational support such as graduate support where we follow individuals from middle school to high school and beyond, assisting them in any way necessary for them to succeed. This can also include scholarships, ride support and employment assistance.
